Hello everyone, My bunny called biscuit lives outside in a wooden rabbit hut and he got out 2 days ago. When I came back from work he was gone. Me and my partner searched the whole garden but he wasn't there. When I told the kids they were so sad. Basically I was wondering if you had any tips on what I can do to get him back home. Also can they find their way home? Thank you for reading this and we would all appreciate a reply. From biscuit999

they do a lot of their foraging late at night/early in the morning when you're less likely to spot them.

I recommend calling around to shelters and/or animal control and finding someone who will loan you a humane trap (you'll probably have to pay a deposit, somewhere around $60-80 (edit: that's in US dollars, I think that's like $38-50 for you), that will be refunded when you return the trap).

bait it with something good smelling, like a small amount of your bunny's favorite fruit - they have a KEEN sense of smell! draping a towel or blanket over it so it looks like a nice, dark hidey hole may help as well. in case the rabbit goes in late at night and may be stuck in there for a few hours before he's found, I would also put in a pile of hay and a little bowl of water.

he may be long gone, but if he *is* still in the area, I think a trap is probably your best shot at catching him.

You should call shelters, vets, animal control and other places. If she has been found, someone might drop her off. If she has any ID (tattoo, microchip etc), say that as well. This helps get people to keep an eye, especially vets as they can do something if someone brings the rabbit in saying is is their rabbit. Having a lost pet report on file is good.
Put up lost pet ads. Any online classifies you can use, the newspaper and signs in your neighbourhood. Local stores might allow signs as well.

Are there any signs on how he got out? Is the hutch something that he could dig out or other escape on his own? It is is totally secure, then you could be looking at someone taking him or being attacked by an animal.
