Well hello, my name is Misery but most people call me Miz. I'm 17 years old, unemployed, engaged, huge animal fanatic. I used to rescue a lot of mice and such from people wanting to let them go outside or give them away as feeders when they used to be pets. I've also rescued rabbits, a guinea pig, cats, rats and a betta or two.
I no longer have the funds to do that, so I just spoil my current pets as much as possible.
I have 5 pets right now. 1 holland lop named Peppy, who's a total sweetheart. Always runs up to you for pats and will ignore any food you have in order to shove his face into your hand. His favourite is cheek rubs and getting patted between the eyes. He was from a friend whose mother was no longer going to pay for him. He lived in a tiny cage with no out time for at least a year before I got him. He was 3 when I got him and is almost 4 years old now.
I have 2 cats, Batman & Waffle. Both short haired. Batman is black with a white 'pube spot' and waffle is an orange and white tabby. Waffle is super vocal and Batman is a derp, always getting into trouble and doing dumb things.
Waffle was taken from an aquantence who found him outside and didn't really care if I took him. He was infested with fleas more than any animal I've ever seen and very underweight. I carried him home on a 45 minute walk in my sweater and he was happy as can be.
Batman was born to a stray who a friends neighbor was feeding. He rehomed the kittens every time she had any and I just happened to get one of the last ones from a litter. I'm not even sure Batman was old enough to be away from mom when I got him.. For the first 6 months I had him he didn't even have male parts.
Last but not least, I have 2 hairless rats, Kush and Bo. Kush is easily startled because of having very very poor vision, and used to have a nipping problem that we've worked on. He now loves side scritches though still hates being picked up.
Bo is the friendliest animal I've ever met. He does nothing but climb on you and give TONS of kisses. He'll lick my fiances hands all day if he let him.

Anyway on to the pictures!

Hello nice to meet your babies! Your double rex ratties are beautiful.. I always found them to be super friendly

Welcome to RO!

You have some awesome critters! Thanks so much for sharing.

Look forward to following your blog!

K:)

Thanks. I've been on RO for a few years now, but wasn't active for a long time after having to rehome my last rabbits.
I'm very excited to be able to post about my bunny again. :)

Even though no one noticed the last post, I have more to share. Haha
I taught Peppy to go over a really poorly made jump 2 days ago. I'm ecstatic. I've wanted to get some agility equipment that he can use at home to give him some stimulation for a long time now.
Anyway, here's a video: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75333623@N02/7078424487/

The jump itself is super short right now. Once I make one out of probably PVC pipes it'll be taller. :D

Sorry I missed your last post. Love the video. Love the fact that Peppy follows you and he's jumping really good. Can't wait to see how he does when you build the jump higher. I think Peppy will have no problem.

Yeah, he's quite the tag along.
Looks like jumping won't be a problem for him at all now. I have a friend here with my fiance, and they both just witnessed him clear a baby gate. That's the same height as his pen and cage, How hasn't he jumped out of them?
shocked.

Most likely. He hasn't even tried to get over the gate again. Guess he figured out it was just closed doors on the other side. :p

What I wanna know is do they ever learn to go from pen to free run in a room and back?

I had Peppy out in the whole living room the day before yesterday for a good 10 hours, which is like usual.. except he's almost always in his pen(which takes up the length of my living room completely, and part of a hallway).
When I let him out yesterday he was chewing on the pen bars trying to get to the rest of the living room.

I'd let him out in the whole living room regularly except he won't litter train for poop, and he can easily get into our tv stand, because it's open glass shelves.

I think it depends on the age of the bunny. My bunnies, when young, would bite on the bars to get more free reign, but now they more relaxed. They are older now and don't get so upset when not allowed full reign. They don't mind the pen when I put them in it. They seem to have accept the fact that there are two ways to be out of their crate and though they like the free reign better, there's no more biting on the bars. Now it's the babies turn to learn the two different ways. With the poop and Neville's teenage marking started, they will definitely be limited. But know as they get older, just like I've learned from my adult bunnies, they will understand the two different ways as well.

It takes time and repetition, but I think your bunny will eventually understand the two different ways to be out and about.

K:)
