Hi!
I am looking for one (but probably two) rabbits in Houston. I think I want a mini-satin or lionhead. I am very willing to adopt/rescue, but I just don't know where to look. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
Antoinette

For starts checkout craigslist in the pets section and also farm and garden. Sometimes there are rabbits put up for adoption. I've had good luck and have carefully followed up on some of the ads with great success. There are alot of rabbitries in the Houston area. Also you can call the local animal shelters in your area to see if they have any availlable.

I went to look at him. He was skittish, but I think it was because it was very crazy in there. He is getting neutered on Monday, so he won't be able to come home until Wednesday. I am going to fill out an application.
I had really wanted two females. I am concerned about having a male and female. What do you think? How is it to put two new bunnies together that haven't grown up together?

aspradlin27, be carefull putting a recently nuetered buck in with a doe as there is the possibility he could still be fertil for several days, maybe longer. Lionheads are great little bunnies we have 7 of them here and everyone of them are very unique. Post some pics when you get him home. Will be interesting to see him as they can vary a bit.

Thanks so much. Do you know of a breeder or someone that has some for sale? We really live in Huntsville but spend a lot of time in Houston, too. We are going to go back and look at the one at the shelter because yesterday was crazy. I just want to have a few options.

I volunteer at a shelter and a lot of the rabbits that haven't been there long are skittish. They just aren't use to everything going on. Do you know how long he has been there?

I have heard that male-female is the easiest to bond, then female-female and then male-male. I don't know if it is true but is something I have heard a few times. Here is the library thread on bonding rabbits http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=12072&forum_id=17
