If I stuck this in the wrong section, sorry!

Well, long time no post lol. Last you guys heard from me I had 2 cats, 2 buns and 2 foster buns with intent of moving to Illinois. Well, I managed to find a home in Huntington Beach for an afforable price and I got to keep all my animals too. One of my foster buns found a loving home about a month ago and the other foster is here to stay. She's a bit headstrong and I doubt I could find a home for her besides me who could love her besides her need to lunge at everyone and attack. Lone bun for sure though.

Last Sunday...my poor Nilla crossed the rainbow bridge. His mate Lumi has been a nervous wreck ever since. I'm on the search to find her a new bonding mate, preferrably a neutered male. Does anyone know of someone around the Orange County (California) area that has a bun that needs to be rehomed? I prefer an adult around a year or two old, of the bigger breeds, no dwarfs.

Edit : I meant "wrong" section, not "long" section lmao.

Hi Okiron!

I'm so sorry to hear about Nilla...:(

Not to say you haven't already thought of it, but have you tried Petfinder?

Also, maybe try Craigslist?

Umm...other ideas...I don't know of a bun offhand that I can offer ya...but hopefully you haven't yet thought of those two places, and they have somebun in store for you that's just perfect! :D

Hugs to you!

Hi Rosie! I'm trying both CL and Petfinder at the moment. I'm not a good adoptee candidate though because most places don't like the idea of free roaming buns and cats together. I also have a dog in the house (roommate's) that never comes in the bun area but just the idea of him being there is a ticket to no buns. And CL people are so much in a hurry to get rid of their animals, they don't want to try and see if Lumi and their bun will get along at all. I don't want to get stuck with another bun that's a loner and Lumi with no mate. I'm contemplating so bad to see if I could find a flemish but I can't seem to find any breeders near California.

Ibelieve its about an hour drive from Huntingtonbut the Rancho Cucamonga shelter has MANY buns that need homes. I adopted there in the end of Sept. and they had a sweet boy named Snowy a red eyed white New Zealand who I fell in love with (but I can't have another male) among several others. They allowed me to adopt with free roaming buns, cats and a dog. lol. The adoption fee is $40, includes the spay/neuter.

You can see their buns here http://www.rcpets.info/adoption/other.aspIt looks like they just received some French Lop owner turn-ins.

You might want to take a look at our Rescue Me section too, if you haven't already. I want to say there was at least one on there from Cali not long ago.

This is a great place to adopt! They do not keep the bunnies in a shelter but in there very own homes. All the people are very sweet (and mostly volenteers) and would love to chat to you about getting another bunny. The lady in the Huntington Beach area is named Beverly(Bev) email :[email protected].

Also the Irvine Animal Care Shelter is great! Kay is very helpful and if you take Lumi there you can have a bunny date with the girls. http://www.housebun.org/irvine/

Good Luck!

Hannah

P.S. If you have any questions about anything PM me

Yes I have checked the Rescue Me section lol.

No offense but I refuse to go to shelters or rescue groups. Especially Bunny Bunch. I don't do well with spam and borderline harrasement.

Edit : I got a little click happy with the send button without finishing my thought lmao. I would much rather adopt from a bun's owners where I could get a much better idea of what kind of buns they are. Shelters and rescues are so eager to adopt out that they'll tell me anything. Like how I ended up with Lumi and Nilla to begin with. Both were females according to the animal shelter with no idea on their personalities. Every single bun is listed as "sweetest rabbit" or "always wants to be petted."

Well good luck finding your new bun! I would keep checking the classified ads. You might be surprised with the shelter..they told me Ruby was a thumper. lol. Though I have never seen her thump so they might of been wrong, or as I like to believe she likes it here more than the shelter. :pThis shelter is unlike anything I have ever seen. Instead of having there cats in cages, they have ROOMS furnished like a home with lots of chairs/cat towers etc. to lay on, even a backyard where they can go outside and bask in the sun. I was very impressed with them.

Bunny Bunch is a great place, and she is a VERY sweet lady. I don't much like the spam either and they are very strict on their adoption guidlines. Which again I understand you have to be but they would not adopt to me because I have cats.

In the rescue me section there is a post for Craigslist Horrors. This guy REALLY needs a new home, and responsible owner! They're in Temecula.

Our Family Bunny Munchie needs a home. We have just moved from Pt Loma to Temecula and to find a good home for him. He is about 7 months old. He his very tame and is good with well manered dogs. Munchie is sililar to an alley cat. If you have private neighborhood. He will come and go. He pops up every 2 to 3 days for food.
