When I asked you guy to tell me what you thought of my himalayan I had realy bad pics of him so I thought I post some better pics now that I got a better cam..

I did take him to the fair he got 3rd our of 5 the judge said he was a very good buck only falts he said was he was a little wide in the back and the nose smudge could be higher. He said that he had a nice top line and great coloring. He is a black I was thinking of breeding him to a blue doe. What do you think? He has 3 legs and has a grand champion papers when we got him. I put him in my son's name so he can use him in showmanship.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post some pictures illustrating what I look for in a himalayan. He does look to have a decent body. He looks to have a nice topline with maybe a slight taper, I don't like to see it in my rabbits but it's fine by many.

Here is an example of what I see as a perfect topline. No deviation in height until it slopes of gently in the hindquarter.

How are his side lines? Do his hips catch at all?

This is how I see near perfect side lines. This buck is a homebred little cuy, and has absolutely no hips to speak of. He does have a slight taper, whick is something we are trying to breed out.

He could use some improvement on his markings from what I can see. They're very mottled in color. You should try getting a photo of them, because markings make up 41 pts of the schedule.

Here is an example of nice stockings/front boots. The color reaches all the way to the elbow. Note that this is a JR with markings only starting to come in.

I can't see much of his back boots, but I can see that they aren't very boot like. It's a marking named after the way it is supposed to look.

Here is an example of what I see as nice boots. Keep in mind, this is a JR and his marking have not fully come in yet. It is also a good shot of his tail, which is a little light.

As for his facial markings, He has a really nice nose smut in the fact that it goes deep into his whisker bed. It is though, a little high and ragged on his face. His ears/ear base is a little light and not as dark as you would ideally see.

Here is a picture of a buck with a nicely shaped nose smut. It will ideally take the shape of an egg and be very dark, and deep. His doesn't span as far as I would like, but it has a nice shape to it, and the lines are considerably clean and round. The animal in my avatar also has a very nice, clean nose smut.

In any case I think he would be worth breeding, you just need to get yourself a nice little doe with excellent markings so you are breeding for improvement.

Yea that is what I am looking for thank you so much for showing me with your bunny. He is a Sr buck and 4 years old. I do see a little hips that is what the judge said also. How far up shoudl the nose markings be? What color doe would you breed him to?

He is such a crazy boy loves to dig and pull out my carpet. I won this boy at a 4H raffel and did not intend to keep him after my son did he showing for this year but he grew on me. Now I think if a get a real nice mark doe we can do even better in the shows next year.
