Thank goodness for people like you! I have heard so many excuses that people use to get rid of an animal and this one is really ridiculous (especially if the kids that were taking care of the animal are younger than like 12).

When a parent lets a child own an animal, they are ultimately responsible. I hate that people think rabbits are disposable.

Absolutely. When I interview a family with children, I get pretty heavy handed when emphasizing that the parents are the primary caregivers. If I scare them off, so be it.

The surrender reason I heard at the shelter one time was, my son got the rabbit but "he's into matchbox cars now." :?
