litterbox vs food bowl

I got Ivory a litter box to try to stop her fromusing her food bowl as a litter box, but I think she's confused. She'snow thinking that the litterbox is a foodbowl, and tries to eat thebedding from it. Three questions about this:

1. is there supposed to be bedding in the litter box?

2. how could i get her to stop eating her bedding?

3. why didnt I think of this sooner?

I think it is normal for them to munch on thelitter. Mine do that. You just have to make sure that the litter issafe for them to consume. I use aspen bark shavings covered with alayer of timothy hay.
