I am trying to litter box train my rabbit. He doesn't seem to like the litter box much. I bought my cat a sheepskin type cat bed, but he didn't use it much. So I put it in my rabbit's play pin to see if he would use it. Well he used it alright! First thing he did was go to the bathroom on it. I thought he was just marking it as his. But he uses it to go to the bathroom on all the time. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't cloth. He won't pee anywhere but on the bed. He still poo's a little on the newspaper but mostly on the bed! His litter box has recycled paper pellets. And I put so hay in there to encourage him to go in there. And he does sometimes. But he runs over to his bed to go at every chance. I am going to put the bed in the litter box and then after awhile try to remove the bed. Maybe he will continue to use the litter box?
Any ideas?

spray it with vinegar - i read somewhere that it works to stop rabbits peeing on stuff, we tried it on our rug and it works. you have to top it up every few days though

Some rabbits will always pee on absorbent materials. I would take it away and wash it very well, then give it back when his overall litter habits have improved. Letting him continue to pee on it will just confuse him.

Thanks guys. I got him a better litter pan and removed the bed. But he does seem to go to the bathroom all over the place again :( I will keep working on him.
