This is so frustrating:X why the heck does Trix not use his litter box outside his cage? he uses it fine inside his cage, but when he is outside playing, he goes beside his litter box onto my rug, the little stinker:bunnydance: im having to borrow my MIL's steam cleaner so it will hopefully clean it a little better than i do so he wont smell it and go in the same places. What can I do to help him with this???

When you clean up the urine do you put the paper towel or Kleenex back into the litterbox? (dumb question I know!);)
If he is using the litterbox in the cage but not outside...have you tried maybe switching the litterboxes around? SO put the one he doesn't use into the hutch and move the "used" one to the outer area. Make sure it is dirty though so he can tell it is for him!
We had a similar problem with our one boy and we finally had to restrict his run around space!
Reduce the area he has to exercise, keeping him in easy reach of the litterbox until he starts using it and then start expanding it again. It seems kind of mean to restrict him...but it does work and will make life easier in the long run! And once he figures out what you're asking he can have his space back!

We use our steamcleaner to cleanupourbunnyroom...we use a spray bottle of vinegar and soak down the urinespots first and then run the steamcleaner over them! It helps alot getting the urine out!:)

We actually use the same litter box he uses in his hutch, and when i clean up I usually put the paper towels i use in the garbage. What weird is that he uses it sometimes, he knows where it is, he doesn't have much of a large area to himself because i put up boundaries( my living room is pretty small), and he knows where his box is because he goes right beside it...lol I also use a mixture of vinegar, baking soda and water on the stains, it works great!! I guess I could try moving the boundaries and see what happens, I'll let you know if it works:thumbup
