I just had to share this because I think its sort of incredible. I just got a new rabbit yesterday.

I noticed right away that Zeppelin (the new rabbit) would lie flat out with his chin on the ground. I think its sometimes called "pancaking".

Lulu, my rabbit, NEVER did this. I've had her for a year and I never once saw her lay down like that. In fact, Lulu never really laid all the way out at all. She would always sleep in a "loaf" position. Every once and a while she would do a bunny flop and sleep sideways.

Now the two of them do it all the time! Its her new way of sleeping. She is this super chill rabbit in her cage now who likes to lounge around. Before I always thought she looked a little uptight.

Also, Lulu never tossed toys. Zeppelin does, and now Lulu does. I think its incredible how fast she picked up behaviors. Its only been one day.

Aw, that's so cute. Maybe that's just Lulu learning how to chill out and have fun! My newest rabbit Penny does that total pancake all the time. Her bondmate Kirby only does it on rare super relaxed days. She doesn't seem to have rubbed off on him :) But it's so cute that Lulu is learning how to let loose and pancake :)

That's very cool! Some of it may be her relaxing more too. Bunnies take cues from each other so if he's got a stretched out, nothing to worry about attitude then that will encourage her to relax as well :)

It's things like this that remind me why I prefer going through the scary bonding process... I think watching animals interact can be fascinating. I'm really glad your bunners are enjoying themselves. It seems Lulu is really enjoying the company :biggrin2:
