Wow is he two already. i still remember him as a little fluffball last time i went home:)

I've never seen wild ones but always loved watching the ones in the Zoo

We love Knut so much! If we ever get a white animal, it's name is definitely going to be Knut. There's a song on YouTube about Knut sung in German by a kid and my boyfriend listens to it a couple times a week :biggrin2:

My daughter, of course, has a little teddy called Knut. We bought him during our last visit.

Aww! Knut has gotten so big, so fast! :cry1: He is still adorable, though! I've only seen polar bears at the Milwaukee County Zoo, and for the most part, they're always sleeping!

Awee so cute, i've never heard of him though ?

Theres a bear that lives near my camping trailor. He doesn't go on the grounds, he'll run along side your car when you leave though, like he's trying to race. He gets a hoot out of it.

If I were driving somewhere and saw that, I think I would need a change of pants... (that is written as eloquently as I could on the subject)! LOL

Did you hear about the woman who jumped in to the Polar Bear exhibit at the Berlin Zoo? I think it happened maybe today or sometime yesterday...??

Anyway, she got attacked. It was her fault for getting attacked, not the bears. She was being extremely stupid by doing that. From the pictures, it looks like she wanted to hug them or something! She was all smiles as she swam towards them.

Polar Bear Attacks Woman At Berlin Zoo
The intruder was attacked just yards away from Knut, the abandoned bear who became famous around the world.
Zookeepers managed to push the bear away and carry the woman from the cage.
The mauling took place inside an enclosure occupied by four polar bears not far from Knut's home.
Heiner Kloes, a Berlin Zoo spokesman, said the enclosure is surrounded by a fence, a line of prickly hedges and a wall.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition was not immediately known.
Police did not say why she jumped in with the bears.
"The woman has proved herself to be careless by jumping into the enclosure," a police spokesperson said.
"Logic tells us that polar bears will do this type of thing in this situation."
Last December, a man who later described himself as "lonely", jumped into the cage of the zoo's most famous polar bear.
But he emerged unscathed after zookeepers managed to distract Knut with beef.
The celebrity bear won the world's sympathy after being abandoned by his mother shortly after his birth.
A spokesman for the zoo said Knut, now two years and four months old, would never harm a human.

Offensive statement coming up...

This is why some people should just not reproduce...

THEY'RE THE BIGGEST FREAKIN' LAND CARNIVORE! What did she think would happen?! They would pose for a Coke commercial with her?

Ugh! Some people are just beyond stupid...

That's so true. And this isn't the first time someone has jumped in to the polar bear pen.
I know I wouldn't do it. When i go to see them in the wild it's NOT recommend to stick your arms out the window to take photo's you know why???? Cause they'll EAT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, some guy jumped into the polar bear exhibit at the Milwaukee Zoo after hours. Luckily, the guy was drunk and stupid and fell into the "moat" (empty space) that is between the viewing area and the actual animals. Those moats keep the animals in and the idiots out. :)
