I am sick of answering the door just to have it be someone asking for something.

"Can you fix my computer?"

"Can I borrow..."

"Do you have..."

"Will you..."

It's driving me crazy.

Now this neighbor who had a HUGE falling out with Robert over some stupid nonsense and pretty much has been ignoring me for months. Doesn't even wave and say "hello" anymore comes to my door and wants me to fix his computer. So I told him I was busy at the moment and if he wanted to bring it over, I would look at it and get it back to him tomorrow or Thurs. No. He wants me to come to his house and show his wife what the problem is. I really don't like people sitting over my shoulder and asking a million questions when I'm working on the computer. I don't know why, I just don't. I wish I could learn how to say no. I really don't want to do this. I need to be writing a letter of recommendation for my best friend. I have 100 other things I should be doing. Yesterday I had to send Robert over to another neighbors house to get my hammer back that they borrowed over a month ago because I needed it. Grr

When I need something do you think I could ask any of these people for help??? No. Ok so maybe one or two of them but the rest stink.

Don't you love how people suddenly become your best friend when they need something? Grrrrr!

I love living in the country cause I don't get that much. My sister inlaw lives down the road so we get the "I'm out of eggs can I borrow one?" thing but that's ok - it's family.

I don't mind the friendly neighbors borrowing eggs, or sugar. I also don't mind helping people. It's what I do, I just don't like feeling used.I can't wait to live somewhere where the nearest neighbor is at least a mile away.

Thanks for letting me vent. I didn't go by the way. Told him I had to pick up my daughter soon and would come by tomorrow or thursday. Hopefully by then they will have fixed the issue.

me too, no one ever knocks on my door, lol.

I know how you feel hunni. People do that to my hubby for pc work. He got tired of it and told them that the next time you want pc work I will be charging ya.

Tell him that you will start charging him per hour, and you got alot to do so you will have to do it when you are done or he can go to a pc shop.

He is using you

Becknutt, your dilema reminded me of a french rap song. I think it's by MC Solar... it's called "get out of my house" (but it's called that in french) and it's all about his neighbors coming buy to borrow things or asking him to do stuff for them and he says "NON!" and tells them to get out of his house. This is one of the three or four things I remember from 2 years of french class :p

Ugh... Sounds like my mother...

Seriously though, don't let people take advantage of you. You deserve to be treated with respect. :rose:It'd be different if it were an excuse to get you over to try and mend things... So I guess you need to see what it's really about :)
