It's time for me to order hay again, I've been ordering from Kleenmama's Hayloft and purchasing the 2nd cut timothy. Well, they are out of it right now, all that's available is Bluegrass Hay. My question; Is this an acceptable hay to feed in the place of Timothy?

Here is info on it:

Bluegrass Grass Hay--
The beautiful hay we carry called "bluegrass" is actually a hybrid seed my farmer has developed. It is an orchard/bluegrass seed. For those of you that are used to orchard grass, this will be similar except it has a beautiful blue/green color. After viewing more that 30 farms and countless hays, it just didn't do justice to call my hay "orchard", so I have chosen to call it "bluegrass". It is a wide bladed, leafy variety that is soft and pliable. Nutritionally, it is equivalent to orchard grass.

:thanks:

Our disabled girls adore Kleenmama's hay, and especially the 3rd cut.
Linda at Kleenmama's provides such excellent service!

I will report a personal experience about bluegrass and this may just be our sensitive clan. I think Haley and others have had no concerns with bluegrass. Our guys didn't like it and one sensitive boy named Barclay developed gut issues, some other buns snubbed the aroma and hay as well.

Again, perhaps an isolated experience? Our clan adores her timothy ~

Stock up, and count the days until you can slip in your pre-order. ;) She runs a fantastic, quality hay business.

Hope this helps. Perhaps order a sample or small amount to see if your bunners do okay?

Acceptable, yes. Or Linda wouldn't stock it and sell to her customers.

I ordered bluegrass last year when they were out of timothy. It was beautiful, fragrant hay and all my kids loved it. I still get the 2nd cut timothy whenever I can though.
