Hi ya'll! I'm new here...we just recently started raising Holland Lop rabbits for 4H/show. We have had our buck for 2 years and just bought some does this past spring. After months of trial and error (raising Holland Lops is NOT for sissy's **LOL**) we finally had our first healthy kit born on Halloween to a proven 3.5 yr. old GC doe. It is so cute!
So, it is about 2 wks old and noticed a few days ago that it has a hard, lumpy "growth"...almost like a scab down its side and behind its left front leg. I thought it might be almost like a "bed sore" from laying in the same spot. It looks to be on the outside of the skin/hair. It does not seem to bother the kit unless I picked at it and it moves around just fine. What is it?
I keep the cages clean and change out the bedding in the nestbox every 2-3 days.
We do not have a vet that sees rabbits near us...most of our vets specialize in dogs/cats or livestock.
Thanks.
Angie
