Someone just gave me a huge bunch of what I think is Russian red kale. (Pic link below).

The red has given several of my buns gas in the past -- unlike the other varieties -- and they don't seem to like it as much so I'm cautious.

I wish I already had a dehydrator so I could preserve it, it's already wilting. I've put it in a tub of water, not sure if that will help.

I didn't realize the stuff had branches like this. I'd love it if my guys could chew on it, seeing as I'm out of apple tree branches.

Any thoughts?

You could dry it out with box fans and a filter in between fans. Alton Brown uses it to dry out fruit and I'm sure it would work on veggies.

And that's a huge plant!

If you keep it cooler it will last longer. It may be wilting because it came in from the outside.

I think I'm going to run out and buy a dehydrator with the grocery budget. (Humans don't need food when the bunnies happiness is at stake, right?)

Only problem is trying to take a shower with the 'tree' in the tub.
