I got my almost two year old rabbit neutered yesterday. He did great in surgery, but has been picking at his stitches. Everything has a little blood and is swollen. Just wondering what ya'll think I should do? Also, what are some ways to keep him comfy? Thanks so much!
P.S. If you need a picture let me know

Contact your vet. You may need to keep a cone or bunny shirt on him to prevent him from messing with his incision. You don't want him chewing it open.

Thanks! I will call them ASAP! I had a feeling from the beginning that he was going to need a cone.

Also, I didn't want to make a new forum so I thought I should just ask on here. How do you keep your outdoor rabbits cool in the summer? Theo has been laying on his cold concrete all day, but still seems hot.
Thanks!

Complete shade, cool smooth surface(like concrete or tile slab), frozen 2 liter bottles set on the smooth surface(concrete, tile slab, etc) helps keep the ground around it cool, indirect air flow(breeze, fan, etc), keep cool water in their dish. If all else fails, bring them inside to the AC. You never want them to get to the dangerous point of heat stroke, because if it occurs it can cause permanent neurological damage or even be fatal.
