hey everyone:)

i just have a small problem with chocolate bunny,im not sure if itsanything to worry about or not,im more curious than anything.

well you know how bunnies have padding on the bottom of their feet, wellat the moment chocolate bunnys fur is coming away from under one of herfeet, its like all come to the side of her foot,i just dont know whythis is happening, none of my buns are in a cage, they are free roam soits not like they are on wire or anything, but then even if they werecaged this shouldnt happen.

it has also happened to strawberry

i just dont understand whats going on,im so curious i also dont know if that would hurttheir feet or not.

also, marshmallow has like a little red lump under her foot, does anyoneknow what this could be caused from?it is on the bottom of her heel, itdoesnt seem to bother her but im also curious about that as well.

i know these are just little problems, but what ever goes on with my buns im always concerned:)

cheryl....

Rabbits actually don't have padding on theirfeet like cats or dogs. It's just normal skin covered in fur. I'm notsure what you're saying about what's going on with the fur on her foot, though.

They also can develop callouses on their heels much like guitar playersdo on their fingers and like everyone does on their heels. If you findit bothers the rabbit or if it's anything other than a healthy shade ofpink, might be beneficial to get a vet look at it.

It sounds almost like sore hocks. Zoecathad this same problem with her Flemish Ben. Ben wasn't caged yetsomehow developed sore hocks.

I'll try and find and bunp up the thread for you as I know shewas having a hard time finding a suitable relief surface for him.

HI Cheryl , what kind of rabbits are yours?

rex tend to have issuse withhock sores , mostly because they have lessfur covering the bottoms of their feet, Weight will also causepressure sores , as will imbalancesin feed and treats . Hock soresare not rabbit specific , any rabbit can get them .

If you could snap a picturealso that would help a bit more to see what maybe going on .

shuu, its the fur on the bottom of her foot, andits coming all to one side, like a big chunk of fur thats lifting fromthe bottom of her foot and coming to the side of her foot:)

Tina, thanks for that, and what do sore hocks look like?do they get likesores on the bottom of their feet?i know,i sound stupid dont i?:?

Gypsy,my bunnies are dwarf lops.

marshmallow is a bit over weight, all she has to do is look at food andshe gains the weight,so that could be her problem,hmm...i dont reallygive mine many treats anymore, only occassionally now because i noticedmarshie was piling the weight on,

she is a piggy, she has tried to break into my kids school bags, causeshe can smell yummies in there:D,the kidsdont leave theirschool bags on the floor anymore as marshie bit a hole in theirbags, she is such a bad girl.

im curious as to what you mean by imbalances in feed:)

but i will take pictures to show you what i mean, now i just gottaremember the batteries today when i go out,for some reason i go out andalways forget the batteries:)

thanks so much you guys,i really appreciate it:)
