We just got our new baby mini lop, Cookie, yesterday; he is 8 weeks old and just THE cutest little thing.
We have had him out quite often during the day to relax with us, cuddle with us and explore our home. He's been staying mostly in our family room and doesn't really seemto want to venture outside of that room.

Earlier today, he starting jumping in the air and doing twists and turns.. now tonight he is jumping, bouncing, zig zagging really fast all around the room. Is this normal and is he ok? Is he frightened or does that at all mean that he feels comfortable around us?
HE's a very cuddly bunny and just loves to be held, cuddled. Is it ok to be handling him so much?

Thanks so much for all your advice!

He is a VERY happy boy! If he likes the handling that's great. Those jumps he does are called binkies and bunnies do that when they are happy!

You are so lucky to have a happy bunny that likes to be cuddled! My Thor can be affectionate, enough...but try to hold her or pick her up?:( I'm afraid she's too skiddish for that. She's quite easily spooked. Ever since she was 3 weeks old she's been with us, and no one has ever held her.:( But, as she is getting older...she allows us to get close to her, to pet her, lay on the floor beside her, and she sometimes makes funny little grunting noises (I think this means she's appy!) Have fun with your new bun!

The jumping, bouncing, and especially the zig-zagging are one of the best things about bunnies. Our rabbit Austin (the one with four good legs) does this usually at least once a day, and we give him applause every time. He just stands there with an expression that says "yeah, that was pretty good, wasn't it?".

Simon (our other bunny, with 3 good legs) usually binkies straight up in the air a few inches, and then flops around and/or runs out of the room. Upon exit he frequently bashes into the wall, which doesn't stop him, and it's hilarious to watch.
