We took Jordi and Wesley up to my parents cottage with us this weekend, and we constructed a big cage and play area very similar to what they have at home.

Unfortunately Jordi hardly ate the entire weekend. My poor baby, I was worried the entire weekend.(Of course Wesley was hardly phased)

Needless to say, Jordi will be staying at our house for the rest of her life! ;)

What a sensitive bun.

That's a shame Jordi can't go travelling with you. Did she return to eating normally when she got home?

Aww Jordi just loves her home, what a little home bunny:),mine would rather be little home bunnies,i have never taken them out of the house except for when some bunny needs to go to see the vet, then they give me this look like i'm being mean or something:?

Hehe she probably gobbled up all her food when she got home:)

Ringo like it before. Now with his health issues its hard on him. Connor loves it.Samantha and Teresa don't like the drive but are fine once they are let out.

Both her and Wesley hid under our bed the entire day we got homeand then pigged out at night. The next morning they were back to their usual selves. :)

Even the buns who acclimate easily can have an aversion to traveling. The ones that don't acclimate well can be quite a worrisome problem.

I think the key phrase here is, "....very similar to what they have at home."

Similar.... but not the same. It may have "looked" the same, but their senses told them that everything was different, and it was probably a bit overwhelming for them.

When Brindle was a baby, we let her free-run in the house a lot. That was before the addition of the other buns ...and the puppy. She doesn't get out as often, but we let her out in the den (her favorite room in the past). Instead of running around, she "freezes". It takes her at least 20 or 30 minutes to get up enough nerve to explore a little bit....and then only after a bit of nudging.

One of the main reasons we decided not to take the bunnies to the Party last year was the worry of how they well they would handle the trip.
In fact, the rest of my family is going on vacation next week, and guess who's staying home to bunnie-puppy sit?

I guess considering how upset some bunnies get when you move their water bowl, not surprising they REALLY get upset when you move their whole world. :D

Pipp spent her formative years living on the street with a couple of homeless kids, so travel was a breeze for her. Not sure about the others, I've become a homebody since they've arrived.:?Dill adjusted right away when he came here, though...

(Love the title, btw!)

I hear ya. I had a feeling that Jordi might have issues and I was right. We'll find bunny sitters from now on. We got through the weekend by continually feeding her her favorite treats and hand feeding her hay. She just wouldn't touch her pellets.
