About 4 yrs ago my 14 yr old dog, Bonne, died from kidney disease. I was so attached to this dog and so heartbroken that I wanted to get a dog that physically resembled her (beagle shepherd mix)

I studied pet-finder constantly and found a photo of a dog that was at a small shelter in Michigan. She was named Demi and looked just like my Bonne

To make a long story short I managed to adopt her and have her transported to me. I had been told that she got along with all other animals but found that although she liked other dogs she had an extremely high prey drive with ALL my other animals.
I had to find her a new home and managed to have her taken by an excellent group near me that foster in-home and is no-kill. She was quickly adopted by someone who lives in Chicago as I followed her whereabouts.

One of the women from the rescue group knew, of course, that I had rabbits and happened to mention that her son had a dwarf rabbit that he had lost interest in and that sat in a cage in the basement with no attention.

I decided to take him, sight unseen, as a favor , as I knew I could give him a better life. She named him Rocky but I re-named him Joey

Now for a few pics of the so called dwarf

(Now for a few pics of the so called dwarf) This sentence gave me a real chuckle once I saw him. He is very cute, is he a Rex?

Susan:bunnydance:

He is probably half -rex and ?..weighs about 5 lbs.
Anyway when I got him he was really nasty...bit, growled, lunged, boxed and was overall a real "meanie" so of course I loved him anyway. he is somehat better but still a tough guy
he was bonded to my holland lop that died last July... Jacques (no pics )

Jacques was a real ditzy airhead bunny (God I loved him too) and didn't have an aggressive bone in his body.

Joey adored Jacques and was never anything but sweet to him, actually deferred to him..letting him eat greens first etc.

Joey is still a difficult , crabass bunny but he is himself and I love him that way.

I would love to find another partner for him but none of my other rabbits can take his ****

Joey is adorable! I remember hearing about him when Jacques passed, bless his heart. How is he managing as a single bunny?

He does look like maybe he has some rex in him. Hes so cute!

I have tried to bond him with Rudy (who is mellow) but he is soooo nasty that they end up fighting.....he needs a rabbit that has no aggressive potentail and I don't have one yet. I could try Gabriel but since I keep him separate because he has not been diagnosed yet it would be a long time before that could happen
Joey is fine by himself but he was really happy with jacques...so its sort of sad

he looks so innocent too in the pics:Dreally nice bun its such a shame when they haven't been socialised at least he has a loving forever home with you though:D

in the 2nd pic he had his ears down..trying to figure out what I was up to ..I think the woman's son must have mishandled him. He totally lacks trust.

a little bit of advice when a rabbit is bought goes a long way!! i can remember going to the vets one day and a woman was sitting beside me with a rabbit so i asked what she was in for (im very nosey lol) and she was having it put to sleep cause it was vicious in its hutch i was really upset and would have taken it off her but thought Bruce would kill me, when i told him afterwards he said i am surprised you didn't bring it back with you.DOH!! i did try to tell her that they can be territorial, but some people just don't want the responsibility. it wouldn't surprise me though if they just took it off her and rehomed it cause one of the nurses loves rabbits

If a rabbit like Joey was at our shelter they would PTS because he would not be considered a good pet.
I just love rabbits so much that I like them "any " personality ..there is reason behind every rabbits behavour
