Job Hunting

Why does it have to inhale so much? I thought I had this great job at a vet clinic just up the road and then it turns ugly. Find out things are being done that shouldn't be done (skipping out on things during surgery to save money)or things that aren't being done that should be done (like leaving the animals in their care without food for two days). Two former employees have told me other things as well that I haven't seen. So I got out of there, two of our rescue's cats died while in his care when they had been fine before at another vet clinic. Anyways I got out of there, as you know there is going to be big trouble sooner or later.

Now I'm without a job, other then my dog walking and pet sitting which hasn't taken of yet though I do have a couple of clients already its just not enough right now. So I was offered a previous job back at a pet store, they haven't called yet to tell me when I could start (went in there on Thursday had a meeting with the boss Friday about what happened whenI left the first time said I'd get a call back for what hours I'd be working but no call yet). So job hunting is in full force again. Applied at a horse barn as well as at the Toronto HS. I'm really hoping to get in somewhere having to do with animals. I enjoy the work, but those are the jobs that aren't in plenty around here. -sigh-

Just sort of a rant type thingI guess it is. I'd talk to the partner but he's angry at me at the moment for quitting the vet job without having another job lined up (I quit because I was sure I'd get in at this pet store by now). As well as not phoning the store to see what is going on, if I'm going to be hired again or what.

I'm on the same page as you pretty much. I've been looking for jobs since last year. I've had two interviews (one at a center helping kids after school; boys & girls club and one for a babysitting job.) I was supposed to go in for an interview/ride testas horse camp counselor in August, but the lady never got back to me really upset me.

I just got the babysitting job offer turned down last week...so now Im looking again. My sister has 2 babysitting jobs! I wish she would give one to me! lol. I hate job hunting!

Same thing here. I have been unemployed since April of this year, and I have only had ONE interview. It sucks. I have a CNA (certified nursing assistant) certification, but no one will hire me because I "lack experience".

I can't get any experience if no one will hire me! :grumpy:

That has got to be tough - a strange question for you - but have you tried nursing homes?

I ask this because my son Eric was dating a gal from Wisconsin for a while and she got her CNA and worked in a nursing home. She was able to get a job there fairly easily and actually interviewed in more than one nursing home and was offered more than one job.

She worked for several months and some time after they broke up (although not related to their breaking up) - she decided to go back to college to become an RN. That's the last I knew....

Anyway - that's just a thought!

Yeah... I've applied at all of the local ones. My car is old, so I can't go TOO far to get to one. Nursing homes sent me away. I was offered a temp. thing for hospice care, but I can't do that. I just can't. I would rather work in the morgue than with the dying peoples... I don't know why...

I've applied at all the hospitals, too. That's FOUR hospitals... Grr...
