My darling little princess, pfffft is driving mebonky! I NEED HELP!! In all seriousness, she started to do somethingnew and I can not for the life of me figure out the reasoning behind it.

So my great bunny minds, if you could put your cooperative headstogether on this one. As of late, she has been trying to destroy herlitter box. Quick background, she is on her own in the cage, not spayed(yet), about 5-6 months old, the box is the corner variety made forbuns and is fully changed once daily with a scoop here and there ifneed be throughout the day.

When I first introduced her to this box, she would fling it arounduntil I secured it to the corner of the cage with a hanger that I cutand blunted the ends of (she can not get to the ends) Everything washunkydorie until about a week ago, now she is starting to take thegrate out and fling it WHY???????????? since there is no grate in it,she wont "go" in the box, for fear of soiling her lil feet and goesnext to the box :?

I am at a loss

Thanks everyone ahead of time for any advice you may have

*sniff sniff* no, there is no way of screwing itdown :(OH she needs some alterations done ,ironically enough I was going to have my language exchange partner callthe vet in Taipei tomorrow-and find out if they really do have theexperience for it,you know what is said about a gut feeling? I almostfeel like I should wait until I'm back in Canada...but then again Icould just be over-reacting due to such a negative response I recievedwhen I enquired about having my girls spayed here in Taiwan. Thank youthough for your quick response,

I am off for lunch and playtime now (NO not MY playtime, haha with the girls at home)

Hi Cher!

So, little Miss Jezebel's attitude is catching up to her, ey? Stinker!

I'm not quite sure I have an answer for you on how to respond tothat. When Tuckerstarted that type ofthing out of the blue, it was to pretend that the litterbox was dirtand he was going to dig a hole over to see his girls Jade &Jez. Litter Everywhere. I'd correct him, and he'dusually just look at me like, "What's your problem?"Different problem, same issue. He'd do it a couple of timesas a 'child', but at 5 months, I knew he knew better thanthat! He also 'tosses the litterbox' sometimes, still.

Every once in a while, he'll start that digging businessagain. I yell at him. "Tucker!! Stopit!! :X You're not a babyanymore! You know better, now cut itout!!"

I also put less litter in the box wondering if I had filled it too muchfor him and he was correcting my error. I think there's acouple of things going on, Jez is reverting to her childhoodl; she'smad about something; she just is doing this out of boredomand because it's fun; and of course, the infamous hormonalissues.

If you can catch her in the act, that would be best and treat her as ifshe's not going in the box. I wish I had more tooffer and hope that others can pick up where I've left off.

HMMM, you have some good points there..Digging is probably why since~

-woke up this morning to the grate off, litter everywhere andpee spots NEXT to this disaster. I have "scolded" her whenthis happens, since as soon as I put the grate back on she proceeds tofling it again and look at me like "I WANT IT HERE" anythingI move, she moves herself after I touch it. LOL, like that piece ofwood you sent-if I forget to put it back in its 'spot' she pushes itwith her nose back to where it should go... alas I digress-so when sheflings the grate she then digs away in the corner of the box....so Ithink I best be putting in a diggin box for her-suggestions? (read athread on it but I dont want her to have dirt...maybe shreddednewspaper? hmmm, saved some good ol American newspaper, and still havesome Canadian paper too!)

Thanks for the username :)

Apollo did the same thing for a while. So just tosee what he'd do I put some new toys he could sling around. It worked. He quit the sling & digging. He found it more fun to throwrattles and keyshains across the cage.

I'm not sure if it would help for you. Apollo is intact. Puberty ugghhhh.

Good Luck

Tina
