We have 2 baby lionheads, approx 8-10 wks old. I have noticed that with one of them his stool is not the normal round pellets, at least not all of it. It is more like softer pellets pressed together in a longer piece. He seems ok other than that. We just brought him home a week ago so he is still a little shy. He does eat very well and drinks. He is eating zupreem pellets and kaytee timothy complete mixed together. I had purchased the zupreem and the kaytee was given with him, so I mixed them together. He also has unlimited timothy hay. I would not say he is an overly active bunny but he does move around. He will walk around outside the cage and jump up on the second level when inside the cage. I have started trying to hold him some, he sits still for awhile and lets me rub him and then after a little while he will start to want to walk around and check things out. He does use the litter pan some but i usually find the adnormal shaped stool on the bottom of the cage and some in the litter pan. Most of the urine ends up in the litter pan but I have noticed that he always urinates beside the food bowl as well, usually once and then when I clean it up he will do it again, so I am not sure if he is just marking that as his? Just wondering if the stools are normal? They are not watery by any means, just soft and clumped together in longer pieces. Thanks so much for any opinions and/or advice.

Sounds like cecotropes which are perfectly normal. Bunnies have a somewhat different digestive system and it concentrates some of what they eat as the normal diet isn't all that fulfilling. Normally they would get eaten and you wouldn't see them. However, not all of our bunnies eat them either. Probably something in the library here that is clearer than my ramblings.
