Chester tends to "purr" with his teeth. He does it all the time - just chilling in his pen, running about the room, cuddling - and I'm thinking it's a good thing since he seems very content when he's doing it, but I just thought I'd ask here to be sure since I've never had a bun that had this same behavior.

I think it's so cute and sweet when he does it...so I hope it's nothing out of the ordinary or a sign of something wrong.

By the way, his teeth look great and he has no problem chowing down. Is he just a cute guy who likes to let me know he loves me or is there something potentially wrong?

I've heard so many people talk about their bun and the "tooth grind" purr but have not "seen" this or "heard" this, would love someone to get this on tape so that I and others could see what you all are talking about.. Further is it more breed/sex specific? Curious but happy for those that get to witness this.. :)

I should've gotten Angel's:(. I might have like one...:?

It's pretty cool sounding, they still love you when they do it, it's so cute!

julie, i'm not sure if its gender/breed specific. i only have 2 bunnies so i can't really make much of a comparison :biggrin2: but between the two of them, Buttons, my female buns purrs a lot more. She purrs all the time, when she's all stretch out after a meal, when i'm petting her head..

my male bunny doesn't purr that much.

i don't have a video, but you can tell when they're purring because you'll be able to see their lower jaw move a lot, constantly. you can even feel some 'vibrations' if they purr while you're petting their heads

AngelnSnuffy, can you actually hear your buns when they purr?? I've never heard any sounds, i just see their jaw moving. i'll try to listen harder tonight!
