First, she wouldn't cooperate. But, with that aside, could the chopped hindquarter be from bad posing? Or actually chopped? Honestly, when I'm posing her, she doesn't feel chopped. But it might be wishful thinking (barn blindness) on my part. Looking at her picture, it looks like the hind feet might be a bit too far forward, but I'm really not sure.

According to that picture she is definitely chopped! However, I think the hind feet may be a little too far forward. I'll have to look, but I remember reading something that tells where the back feet need to be in relation to the hip for them to be posed properly. Nice depth though!

I can see what Vicki is saying about her feet being a bit forward.

And chopped is where her back end looks too straight. Pretty curve in her back and then straight down, instead of a gradual curve?

I think the front and hind legs are both too far forward. It's hard to pose a bunny when they're pushing backwards instead of staying still. But even so, I'm not sure that the tiny amount she's overposed isn't going to make that much of a difference in the appearance of the hindquarters.

Maria, yes, chopped means the sudden line straight down. Compare that to Frostie's hindquarters...Frostie's posed better, and her hindquarters rounds nicely and then slowly tapers off to the skirt. Frostie isn't showing the depth that LaRew is, but she's not overposed, either.

I'm going to go out when it cools off and try more posing and pictures and see what happens. I hate to take up cage space if this doe would be better off in a pet home.

I agree definitely work with her to get a correctly posed profile picture and then see what you think. Her back feet are far forward. The tips of the toes should be in line with her knee or hips.
