My our rabbit developed stasis about 2 1/2 months ago. X-rays showed some mineralized material but didn’t seem to be obstructed. We were doing critical care, hay only, no pellets, lots water and meloxicam, probiotic and another med j can’t remember to help move the GI tract. During that time he did this strange posture a lot. We see it less frequently. Recent X-ray showed nothing in GI tract but vet gave some more mobility meds to keep thru bf s moving. He seemed fine but once or twice a day we see him do this posture…. My husband thinks he just likes to sit that way but I don’t k ow if it’s a sign he’s in pain. He drinks lots of water, eats hay and has nice golden round poops. Does this look like a hunches or belly pressing position or maybe just normal?

Usually head down and rump up like that, is the more relaxed form of a bunloaf. Or it can be a request to be given head rubs. Or sometimes with baby rabbits, they'll pancake down in front of a bigger rabbit, to basically show they aren't a threat. Your rabbit looks like he's just relaxed.

Sitting hunched, is usually a more upright position with the head up, chin tucked a bit,, and body may be crunched up tight. To determine if a rabbit is hunched in pain, you also consider other signs like lack of appetite, eye squinting, tooth grinding, small or no poops, etc.
