Well I found this basket in my closet and thought it would be great for the rabbit. Is it safe for her. It is a whicker basket but it is all natural it has no stain on it. It reminds me of those balls you get them with the peanut inside. So is that safe for her? Thanks

As long as the wood used to make the basket is on the safe wood list. Any idea what kind oit is?
And so long as it wasn't staied, like you said, and not sealed.
Another thing to look for is on the bottom of the basket, look for little pin holes in the wood. This is common especially for baskets that have been sitting around for awhile, means there are bugs (mites) eating into the wood and it should be tossed out.

definately no pin holes but what type of basket it is im not sure. I have had it for about a year in my closet I forget where it came from. I think my mom gave it to me and im sure she has no idea what kind of wood it is.

Other then willow im not familiar with the types of wood they use for baskets. Im sure its okay but maybe somebody else will be able to chime in if they know what type of wood it might be :)

I put a grass mat in there to try to save the basket. I want her to use the basket as a little hide away. She is not to destructive yet but im sure that will come with time!!
