I've noticed Tinkerbell having some soft poopooin her cage. She seems to do it inside of her Chube (where she sleeps)and occasionally in the cage. Is this normal? I've read about the softkind that they eat?? but if this is what it is she isn't eating it. Nochange in her diet. She's still on pellets and hay.

Thanks

Hi Kelscross,

Are they cecotropes that she's not eating? Do they look like a small bunch of grapes?

-Carolyn

Yes..they look like grapes. Because she doesn't eat it then it gets smashed on the bottom of the cage or in her house.

Look what I found !

Do they look like these or are they softer? Sometimes the bun will step/sit/lay on them and squish them.

OOOps!

You already answered my question :D

Sometimes too many cecotropes can be an indication of too much protien in their diet.

How old is Tink?

Check the protien % of the pellets.

How much pellet food does she get?

I'll have to check the protein on the bag...what is the max % she should be having?

She gets unlimited pellets and hay as she is only two months old. Thevet gave me this paper telling me what to feed her when. She's not toget veggies for another couple of weeks. (12 weeks). Or at least that'swhat the info he gave me says.

She isn't fond of bedding in her cage so that makes it messier. I'vetried to put bedding in there and she just scoots it around to eachcorner so she doesn't have to lay on it. ha!

Hi Kelscross,

She may just not need to ingest them if she's got enough in her dietthat sustains her. If you'renoticing alotmore than usual, the most common cause seems to behigh-carbohydrates, low fiber diet. More grasshaycould help.
