Coco has been really itchy today. She's been scratching herself and licking and biting her paws, and I even caught her rubbing her back on the floor. My first thought was fleas. I do have cats who are indoor cats, but sometimes get outside and have had fleas before. They're clean now, and Coco doesn't come into contact with them (sometimes they'll snoop around her cage when she's inside, but they're not allowed in the same room as her when she's not in her cage. She's a new rabbit, and they can get pretty territorial. I don't want an injured bun), but there is still a slim chance it could be fleas. But I had a thought a few moments ago. There are tufts of fur around her bottom, and if I rub her ears and neck, fur comes off on my hand. Which leads me to believe she is molting. Which means that molting could be the reason for the itching, couldn't it? Does molting make rabbits irritated or itchy?

Im not sure about molting issues sorry . But where is she scratching? Is it become red ? Is it constistent itching? Did this start today?

I first noticed it today, and she isn't bleeding or anything. I can't see any redness, and she doesn't flinch when I touch her. She only does it in short bursts, but she does it every five minutes or so. She's not biting too hard, but there was an instance (when she rubbed her back on the floor) where she seemed pretty irritated. She had a good scratch then, and then it dwindled to only a few scratches throughout an hour. She's using her hind leg to scratch behind her neck and a little bit of the side near her head.

Molting should not be itchy. But - bunnies do groom and fuss over themselves an awful lot, are you sure it's not just regular grooming? If she's obsessively grooming/scratching a particular area that would be cause for concern. A few scratches an hour sounds normal to me.

Keep checking her skin for redness or dandruff if you still suspect she has an itching problem.

I would treat for fleas just to be safe. I have indoor cats as well and they get fleas as I also have a dog! If you suspect molting give him a good brush, normal I bush them to the point where the fur isn't coming out as much so it takes a few hours but I have long haired rabbits and guinea pigs as well as short haired rabbits so I'm used to it. If it's molting you just pull on the fur gently and it comes out with no force at all and usually leaves behind short fur underneath.

For me the fleas go dog - cats - rabbits. Thankfully normal rabbit and piggie mite spray kills them off because it's bad enough having to buy Advantage flea stuff for three cats without need to get over ten more doses in kitten form! It's the cheapest one but it's still damn expensive!
