Is London Rocket Brassicaceae (Mustard family) safe for bunnies?

It says that mustard greens are okay for them in moderation. But I'm not sure that mustard greens are the same thing as the London Rocket.

Yeah. I just recently bought some mustard greens from the grocers. I get that once in a blue moon. It isn't the same as what I've got growing.

I'm wondering if all mustard family is safe?

Did you ever find out if it's safe?
I have a TON of this growing in the empty lot next to our house. We usually take care of the weeds in the lot because most of the water drainage that feeds the weeds is from our yard. I would LOVE to be able to use these weeds for our bunnies sine we haven't used any weed killer on them yet.

This looks and sounds like Arugula. If it is, it's very safe and nutritious. Sophie eats Arugula regularly, it's one of her favourite foods:)

You would have to make sure that it's the same thing but if it is, it's safe to give to rabbits.

With a little more research (Thanks to your arugula lead) London Rocket is also called "wild arugula" so SWEET! It's very edible for humans AND their bunnies! The herd with be excited tomorrow! All 9 of them! LOL

You're welcome:)
I can't wait to grow it this summer because Sophie eats it like crazy! I hope your rabbits love it like mine does...just make sure they don't eat too much at once, Sophie tolerated large quantities of it but she doesn't seem to be sensitive like a lot of other rabbits:)

I only have one rabbit that is sensitive, so he only gets hay and a daily vanilla wafer as a treat. My other bunch all do just fine on everything so far. I picked a handful yesterday and split it up between them all they loved it!
I know I probably sound like a crazy person but I wonder if I can find a way to grow it on purpose? Considering this stuff seems to grow here in the desert easy enough on it's own it wouldn't die like all my other plants in the heat!

I do know that it's very easy to grow and can be compared to a weed in some climates. I'm going to grow it in pots this year, hopefully I get a good result:)

Oh it's definitely a weed here LOL
I've been pulling these up out of my backyard as a chore since gradeschool. It pretty well invades all backyards here in Tucson. It's in ALL our flower pots too, but now I can pick it and give it to the bunnies so it doesn't seem like such a menace haha

Oh, I've been missing this updated conversation. (we're in the middle of moving) It's good to know that it is safe to feed after all. Have any of you given it to your rabbits yet? Did they like it?

Kukupecpec, we're not too far from you -- near Phoenix. The only thing, so far, that I've had great success growing all through our blazing summers is basil. It grows like crazy all through the hottest months. --just FYI :big wink:

Now I'll have to see if any of that weed plant is growing at our new place...

I've been pulling handfuls of it every other day for them! I've got two girls that are pickier than the others, but they will still eat it! They just eat it last lol.
I'm debating if I should pull the whole weed or just break some of it of so it will keep growing/grow back? Do you know is there any way to get seeds for it? It's so nice that it just GROWS here, I love it!

Basil! That is awesome! I just bought a bunch of seeds and I'm pretty sure basil was in there so that will be super helpful. Growing in this desert climate is just ridiculous isn't it?!

Definitely let me know if you come across anything else for our deserty climate! I've got 5 buns and 8 babies so every little bit helps, not to mention makes them all the happier!

I would imagine you could let it flower and go to seed. The only issue with that is it may alter the taste. It may become bitter and maybe woody like other veg or herbs that you let go to seed.

Maybe I'll just pick a couple of the really big ones and let them grow to seed and see if that works? That would be pretty nifty!
