My friend who has lied to me before a lot said that her mom scared her bunny to death, btw the first day that she had the bunny it broke its leg, I begged her to take it to the vet but she never did!?!

Unfortunately, yes. :( Rabbits can be spooked quite easily, especially by predators - I've read that if a rabbit sees a known predator (such as a dog, cat, or fox), it may die of a heart attack from the shock instead of an attack.

For a human to scare a rabbit to death, though, I'd think she would need to be doing something that the rabbit found exceptionally scary.

Could the rabbit just go into shock and look dead because after that she said the her dad bug bombed the room because there was a rat in her room

Could this just be an excuse for something else horrible that happened to nalia ( bunny) keep in mind that nalia broke her leg the first week there( my "friend" has been known to do CRAZY things for attention)

Hmm... I know buns can 'flop' which can look like they've just fallen down dead, but they normally only do that when they're quite comfortable and content. As they're quite preyed on animals in the wild, I guess it's possible they might play dead to avoid looking like a target, but unfortunately I'm not too sure - hopefully someone else can provide more information.

Did they remove the rabbit before bug bombing the room? :confused2: If not, that's quite... er, irresponsible. It doesn't sound like the poor bun was in the most caring hands, unfortunately.

Ikr it was irresponsible I have buns and I love them so I would at least remove the body in respect

It's hard to say, but everything your friend has told you could have happened. Given that you say poor Nalia broke her leg, too, and wasn't taken to a vet, it doesn't sound like she was in very responsible hands. I'm sure she's binkying free now.

A rabbit breaking a leg can be something that can happen somewhat easily with rabbits, as they are fragile animals, so it doesn't mean someone is irresponsible if it happens, but not properly caring for it if it does happen, is irresponsible.

Without a necropsy being done, there is really no way to know for sure how the rabbit died. Could have been a heart attack, it could have freaked out at something and broken it's back, it could have had a preexisting health problem that caused it's death. There are lots of things that can go wrong. Without being there when it happened and without a necropsy, it could have been anything.

Whoops, sorry if my post came across as suggesting an injured bun means an irresponsible owner. Should have clarified that not seeking medical attention for the break was irresponsible, as you said.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. :)

Seems like your friend should get animal control called if he/she is acting like this. Sorry. But I don't tolerate idiocy

So I know that she sounds bad but she genuinely cares about animals but I don't think she was ready for the responsibility of a rabbit even though she previously had 3 Guinea pigs
