George is a little slow to eat/be interested in veggies and fruit although better since i`ve stopped the muesli food and now he`s on dwarf burgess excell.i am trying him on lots if different stuff he did like the sprouts but wanted to check ?

apologies should obv be buns not bum!!!

My Nethie Racer wouldnt touch his veggies for a long time and still will finish his pellets and not touch his veggies sometimes.

So what i've been doing is giving him his veggies in the morning before i go to work, like 8:00am, then when i get home from work and training at like 9pm, i'll give him his pellets as a 2nd meal (he only gets about 3 tablespoons of pellets a day).

This ensures he eats his veggies and when he's done with that he'll eat hay and drink water until i come home and give him his pellets (which he loves).

I wouldnt give your bunny bean sprouts only because i read not to, alfalfa sprouts are okay, but if they're those big thick white bean sprouts you find in chinese dishes like fried rice or in vietnamese noodles i wouldnt!

I think with veggies its always safest to go green and leafy excluding lettuce and only little bits of spinich.

I agree I wouldn't feed them bean sprouts either. Too much water content I reckon which could lead to diarrhoea. I have a 3 page document from my vet on what not to feed and I will go home and have a look for you. Iceberg lettuce for example is definitely a no no due to water content however Cos Lettuce is fine.

yeah Sox is on the right track, but i would say even Cos lettuce i'd be careful of, Romaine lettuce is probably the best of the lettuce's but honestly most lettuce is low nutrient and high in water.

Hi Baxter

Would be delighted to send you the list. Can you PM me your email address and I will scan it at work on Monday and email it to you. Although I can type at 70wpm, 3 pages is still quite a long list to type out on a forum! :biggrin2:

Cheers, Carol:bunnydance:
