Hi all! My bun loves fresh apples, but doesn't really care for any other kinds of fruits, or mushy food in general. I had bought a bag of pellets with all of the candy in it--which I've stopped using once I found out how bad it was for her--but I noticed that she ate the dried fruit out of it right away. Is it okay to give her dried fruit in place of fresh fruit some days? Right now she gets two small slices of apple each night, she's on a mostly veggie diet. Thanks!

Fruits should only be given as treats and for that reason, I make my own treats out of fruit. I don't buy store bought because I don't want added sugar, at least when I make them, I know everything going into them. I never manage to finish an apple before it starts to go bad so it's much better to dry it. If you have a food dehydrator it works great.

Yup. You might want to look at Craisins as a treat (just a few pieces)....They're dried canberries, you might like them more than your bun does! I'm an addict and can down a whole bag in a day!

There's the dried papaya that I get from the bulk section in the Natural Food Store. In the grocery stores, I see different packages of dried fruits too. (Mango, pineapple, apple, blueberries).

Rainbows! :)

Yup, I'm a craisin addict too. Whenever I give the bunnies a craisin, I have to have a few handfulls for myself:D. Just remember to give less dried fruit than you would fresh fruit, because dried fruit is more concentrated.

My bun's a weirdo--she won't touch raisins or Craisins. It looked to me like she loved the dried apples and papaya, so I was thinking of giving that to her in place of her apple every night, but I just wanted to make sure that it was okay. Thanks!
