Is Bermuda supposed to be tan

Do the last bale I got was pretty green but my grandpa got one today and its tan. Is that bad? The feed store owner said they all look like that

The quality of hay changes throughout the year. Usually fresh cuttings in the summer are greener and softer. Once you get into fall/winter/spring, it's coming from someone's storage stash in the barn so it could be drier and more brown.

Just make sure it smells okay and isn't too dusty.
