Hi All,

Any advice on this would be appreciated: I have 2 bunnies that love each other, and am thinking about adopting him:

From the SPCA because he's been there for so long! Is it a good idea to add a 3rd bunny to an existing happy family?

Thanks,

Steph

Are Jordi and Wes both female? If not, I wouldn't try it. Males usually fight.

I've tried twice, but have been unsuccessful.

Stephanie has a bonded trio. She can probably help.

Hi !

I have 3 bonded girls. It is some work but it can besuccessful. It took my original 2 girls about a total of 2 monthsbefore they really accepted her.

I still have problems at times.

There is a good link in the Chest Sheet, you can find it in the Top Picks thread.

I've had a bonded 3 some since 11/04 - 2neutered males and one spayed female. The first malein the house would occassionally snatch a tuft of fur from the 2ndmale. The first male and the female bonded themselves with nohelp from me. Wil was in a pen in Mel's room and after 4weeks of sharing space, they broke the clamps on the pen and ended uptogether and inseperable.

The 2nd male is very laid back and mellow.Bondinghim to the other 2 was about 3 months worth of work. Thispast weekend we adopted bunny #4, a spayed female. So far thebonding is going very well with no fighting but a lot ofmounting.

im trying to bond a 3 at the moment i would say that it would depend on ur buns personalities how they react with eachother.

Hetti barely gets on with jack but jack adores her and cleans her she wont resiprocate but lies down with them.

Jack likes the new bun scamp but hetti hisses at her and tries to rip her to peaces.

I think it could be hard work but hopefuly it will work out.

The question is, if u cant bond all three have u got enough space togive the new bun her bit of room and the bonded buns theres?

Good luck xx

I don't know much about bonding rabbits becausemy two came to me bonded. Although, where there's a will there's a way.I think it is great that you are considering opening your home toanother bun. He is gorgeous!

Hi, :)

In the "Top Picks" post at the top of the forum, click on the link thatis called "Cheat Sheet for Rabbit Care". In there is notes, then bookrecommendations, and website links. One of the links is about BondingBunnies.

Buck Jones had found that link and a member of our forum followed it tothe "T", she said, (Stephanie), and she was able to bond two males anda female - all of different ages.

Best of luck with your new family.

I have yet to really sit down and follow the woman who wrote thatarticle's advice. Perhaps this winter because there's too much going onnow. I have a Polish and a Holland bonded and introduced a 6-month oldFlemish in November. The Polish rabbit hates the Flemish and theFlemish is scared to death of the little pip squeak.
