Finally, after months of planning & some inevitable delays, this is no longer a no-bunny household. She came home with me Saturday & still settling in to her new home. I considered lots of names, but finally settled on Ms B W Honey, though she says we may call her Honey.
She's a sweet brown lionhead, about 18 months old. I'm not into photos, but picture the nicest & nearly the most beautiful little rabbit you can imagine [except MAYBE for yours].
Here is her story: Her original family got her at a flea market, left her intact, & also had an intact male. The inevitable happened. When her litter was a few days old, the people were careless again & she got out of the house. They failed to find her, so called the Red Door Shelter. A number of volunteers came out in the rain, got her, & took her & the surrendered babies to their facility. After the babies were weaned in time, she was spayed, microchipped, & made available for adoption. I was the lucky one who got her as a new housemate.
