HI. About a month ago my family was given two girl bunnies about 18 months old... The girls were not taking care of them, and the grandparents thought it best to rehome them. They gave us their 8'x8' outdoor condo that they built for the bunnies - which has a normal bunny hutch inside.....

anyways, I am looking at adding a baby bunny or two - girls not boys! I know someone through a horse BB I belong to that accidentally had babies....

my question is, do I have to do anything special to introduce the bunnies? will the older bunns pick on the newbies? anything I need to do differently?

Thanks for your help!!!

Bonding can be lengthly, stressful, and ultimately unsuccessful at times. I recommend doing a LOT of research before committing to more rabbits. You will need more space, time, and all rabbits will HAVE to be spayed. It is rare that two females will get along unspayed, and downright impossible that four will. And be prepared for the fact that, no matter what you do, some rabbits will never get along and will need separate accomadations permanently. And if you get two sisters, theywill likelyunbond and fight with each other once they hit sexual maturity, so you may need THREE separate accommodations.

Thank you for the info. I did do a little more research and found exactly what you are saying. OK, NOT going to get more bunnies.

I do believe the 2 that were given to us are sisters, and not spayed. There has not been any fighting. They get along great. I definitely do not want to upset the apple cart!

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How to Bond with Your Bunny.
