Hi Everyone!

I'm new here, I know I'm posting my intro in the wrong subforum but I thought I would say a quick intro since I'll be posting in here most of the time. :)

My name is Lindsey, I used to raise/show dwarf hotots as a youth. I absolutely loved my bunnies and did pretty well with them back then. I had to sell everything, leave for college, then got married and had a family. Now, 10 years later I want to get back into raising and showing this little breed with my daughter. We'll be picking up our first pair of DHs next month. :biggrin2:

My daughter has a castorMini Rex buck that is a 9 weeks old (he'll be her showmanship bunny and is an absolute sweetheart). I'm not sure how much to feed him. We've been giving a 1/4 cup in the AM and 1/4 cup in the PM, butit seems like he's always hungry even though he is really starting to 'fill out'. lolWhat is the correct amount to give a baby this young and for this breed? I've tried contacting his breeder but haven't heard back...

I look forward to getting to know you all!

We give our Mini Rexes 1/2 cup per day. Each rabbit's metabolism may be a little different, so you might have to adjust the amount a little.

We've had Dwarf Hotots for many years - one of my favorite breeds ;)

Welcome to the forum!

Mine have hay 24/7 and prefer it over pellets so they do not overeat. There are always some pellets when I go to refill the feeders the next day so I just provide pellets all the time. My Argentes on the other hand will severely over eat. They knocked over and 2 of them happily demolished a 2gallon bucket of feed I'd left on top of the cages.
