I think Becky is a very vocal rabbit because I have heard her make sounds that my pets as a kid did not. The tooth purring and thumping others have described. Thank goodness she has never screamed because that is a terrible sound. But there is another high, soft squeak that she makes that I can't seem to find listed when I google rabbit sounds. Most people list the sounds made in distress so perhaps they miss this one? I'm pretty sure she is really happy when she makes it because it normally precedes a "bunny flop" where she gets all stretched out and mushy. If she were in distress the body language wouldn't fit. Has anyone else heard this sound? I would hate to have her upset and I keep petting her thinking it is a good thing.

sounds like a happy bunny noise!

don't stress if your rabbit doesnt "fit the mould" with noises or behaviour.

i was once a lot like you (i don't mean to sound patronising or anything) but i would go crazy googling everything my rabbit did "rabbit moving head what does it mean" and when my rabbits behaviour didn't fit the mould of what i read online i'd stress out to the maxxtreme.

after a while you just kind of learn to trust your instincts. if she seems happy, she probably is :)

every time I open Lilli's door she comes over and grunts 3 times then starts nuzzling just like Nik-Nik used to. Bunnies are funny. She also makes a honking noise sometime when we are putting in vegetables or hay. Go figure.

Thanks, I do get a little worried over nothing I think. It's hard to believe she has only been here for 2 weeks. Becky also grunts like a little piggy when she eats breakfast, it is too cute. Every day I learn something new about her.

My mini lop also grunts while eating and so does a friend's mini lop. So silly that these female mini lops act like Miss Piggy at meal times ;-)

my Petunia is a loud grunter...its hilarious! when i play with her she hops straight up in the air and grunt grunt ..then lands in the same spot.over and over again..its the best...and when i sprinkle hay on top of her when shes in the poop box she looks up and grunt grunt grunt...stinkin cute i tell ya...
ive never heard this squeal ur discribing...i have heard a scream ...dont wanna ever hear that sound again...made the hair on the back of my neck stand up...
