Hi-
I am interested in giving a rabbit a home! I am checking out our local humane society and house rabbit society, but have seen a couple rabbits on here I would love to give homes to, BUT they don't live in my state! Any suggestions on how I could get the bunny to me? Is that even a possibility? I live in Minnesota. Thanks for your help!

Good for you for checking into the tons of unwanted rabbits at shelters or through Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society. You may find a rehome needy rabbit on RO, and arranging transport logistics is not impossible.

Very sweet to meet friends that way via RO membership' community.

I hope you'll find a rabbit to adopt you, and he/she will be forever your companion or furry best buddy. Soulmate. A joy to treasure and spoil with your affection.

I estimate the local shelters in Minnesota or MCRS will have plenty of rabbits, as they get euthanized at shelters all the time.

My suggestion is to visit a shelter or rescue and beginning stroking a few bunny ears and noses. You'll be able to determine who latches onto your heart strings; whether mature or a youngen. They can chew and dig, and spray pre-sp/euter, so it helps to fall in love with the personality and face, when they are patience-trying! ;-)

Shelters and rescues also adopt already sp/eutered rabbits, which saves your pocketbook a bundle and you can invest that savings on amenities for his/her housing unit, etc. Maybe you'll want to purchase your companion a couple toys?

Haven't googled Blaine, MN, yet but wanted to pass along this activity in your state.
Maybe you already heard of happy hour?

MCRS (Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society) has a Happy Hour held periodically. An article was published by a dear friend (in our state's HRS newletter). She attended and was a guest at this festive rabbit party of playtime and socialization. Seems like a cool way to get introduced to other bunny parents and check out personalities of adoptable (or adopted) buns -- and grin and observe.

Sounds like a mini-vacation outing for anyone who can take in this jumbo play event, umm, from out-of-staters or in-staters.

PM those who have rehome-needy kids, so many need permanent loving homes.

heres a link to petfinder u just type in ur where abouts on the left side of the page and itll show u bunnies all around ur area...Petfinder

there is a group called the Bunderground Railroad that transports bunnies...if they cant help get a bun to you then they will help u find someone who can..Bunderground Railroad

theres a bun at ur local shelter right now that is just waiting for you to come get him and bring him home.

good luck with ur search and please update us on ur new family member.:biggrin:

For every shelter bun (or private or "national rescue" bun) that gets adopted, that frees up a space for the next unwanted rabbit. At high volume, limited number places, an innocent little or big face is just waiting for love ...:hug1:hearts

Petfinder is awesome for starting a search ~ {thanks Flash Gordon}
