Hey
Today while I was cleaning cages, I put all of my buns into their own playpens.
One of my rabbits is an escape artist and managed to get out of his playpen.
I don't know how he got out, as I wasn't watching.
Anyway, I heard some scuffling and noise so I went outside to the playpens and fighting through the bars were my two boys.
I ran over and quickly pulled them away from each other.
The boy who was out of the playpen is fine, I checked him over and put him back in his cage.
I went and checked on my other boy and he too seemed fine. I couldn't see any signs or injury and he was acting fine. I put him back in his cage just in case he was injured.
5 hours later, I went back in to check the rabbits and noticed blood in the cage of the second boy. I picked him up and found an injury on his lip/ nose.
He has blood around his nose and mouth, a small cut and his lip looks like its been torn a little. His lip is swollen.
I've cleaned the wound and as I am sitting here typing this, he is eating his hay.
He is eating, drinking and acting alert, but I am still unsure if this requires a trip to the vet.
Is there anything more I can do to help him? Is this serious and is a vet visit needed?
Thanks
