Art often spoils me rotten - a candy bar here or my favorite soda there....he's just awesome.

Last night he got home a bit late - turned out he had bought me 3 long stemmed red roses - and he stopped in the kitchen and put them in a vase before bringing them into me.

I'm so spoiled....just had to share.

Aww that's so sweet! :D After so many years of marriage as well! (I read that you had a big anniversary recently, I can't remember how long though, sorry!)

Steve did things like that for me, when we first got together LOL. Now I get roses/flowers on birthdays/anniversaries only lol- if I was to get them any other time, I'd wonder what he'd been up to! :p

I've heard, although don't know if it's true, that you can hang roses upside down after they're past their best, to dry them out, and then they last forever... :)

Yes, that is how you are supposed to preserve your wedding bouquet.

We've been married 29 years and the dear man just went to Walmart (on a Friday night) to get me some shortbread cookies to settle my stomach thanks to problems with meds.

Bless his heart.

Ok - so he's also getting snacks for him and Robin too as we're going into LoTRO tonight to play for a bit online.

I told him about the "nose rubs and fruit loops" and he gave me the funniest smile at the fruit loops and went, "Hmm....fruit loops...hmmm..."

There are times when Art & I don't get along at all - then there are times like this when it seems like we hang out together more and he's just naturally more thoughtful.

The thing is (and he knows this) - I love any flower - from a store - or handpicked from the side of the road (which he also does for me a lot).

Oh - and I do things for him too - like walk by his chair and give him a backrub....or bring him coffee when I make a pot...etc.

But I just had to brag on him a bit....I forget who the Christian author/speaker was who said, "I don't know what it is about flowers...bring your wife some and she may not say much to you but the next day she's telling her mom...her friends...the hairdresser....etc. You get a lot of mileage out of flowers.."

So that's why I shared with y'all...

I told Squidz the story.. and I was all *awwww.. wasn't that so sweet and tender?* and got all misty eyed.. (yes I am all emotional lately... don't know why..)

His retort?

"Well I bought you a lawnmower battery and some bungee cords.. so what does that get me?"

Gawd... how can I resist such a tender sweet man...

*gag*

I tried that with my wedding dress. Didn't work. :p

Peg, Art sounds truly special. I am so in awe of the relationship the two of you have, and the love you share for one another. It's something we don't hear enough about these days, I think. I love that you shared this here...it's so sweet and it really does give those of us who are single hope...:)
