im so upset now :(

well i was contacted yesterday from a lady 2 anda half hours north of me. she said she had 2 six week olddutch babies that she was needing to place into rescue. welli told her i would be interested in taking one of them as our ownpersonal pet. as we have one little one and i really lovedthe idea of having another little one around. anyways we havetalked on the phone and though at least 10 seperate emails. iwas to go up there sunday to pick her up well this morningi get an email saying oh ummm these are someone elses rabbits and theyare for sale not for free after she already told me these came from hertwo dutch rabbits! she said she bred them and was unable toplace these last two little girls and said she wanted to bring theminto my rescue. now she changes and says umm there for saleand not hers. i was so excited about getting this new littlegirl but now i doubt i do. i dont wanna drive 2.5hours north of here to have to pay for the little girl after ivealready been told numerous times that she was free cause they justneeded to place them some where. what do you guys think?

Hmmm...sounds to me like she's wanting to make abuck off these bunnies....sounds pretty shady to me....maybe yourbetter off not dealing with her. Hopefully the bunnies findgood homes!

Maybe they really never had bunnies andare just pulling a nasty prank onyou.

Or maybe she found some one that would payforthem.....

i think im going to pass on going up there cause id hate to getthere and find out theres no bunnies or worse!! im so upsetcause i was so excited about getting a new baby but thats ok im more upset that i was lied too!

if anyone happens to hear of any baby bunnies inthe illinois area please let me know. as we really still want to getanother baby! would like to find one around 6 to 8 weeks oldas that way our mini rex baby Kitty and the new bunny can grow uptogether! i would like to try to find a smaller breed ofbunny as in mini rex. mini lop,dutch possiblyND. thanx guys!

also i sent an email back to her asking why all of the sudden shechanged the story with the baby dutch bunny. see if i hearanything back

I think that it probably was true that shecouldn't place the last two, but when she found out how keen you wereshe decided to tell you they are for sale to get more money. I guessshe thought that if you were that keen you would pay. This happened tome with a horse, afterI saidI wasn't going topayI was just giving it a home as a favor, the horse wasadvertised in the paper two weeks later free to good home. It makes meverymad

I'd say thanks, but no thanks.She changed the rules in the middle of the deal and that's justunacceptable, unprofessional, and uncaring towards both the rabbit andyou. If she really cared for the rabbits, she would've donewhat she could to get at least one to your loving home.

Brim it takes a certain someone to be able totake in animals as rescues and for someone to pull on your heartstrings like that then let the wrecking ball loose is no good forwear. I am sorry that you were not able to pick up thebuns. There will come a time where people like that will soonlearn that charity begins at home. What you are doing is tobe commended. Well done

Try searching on petfinder. Or try hitting up an arba show in thestate. theres usually lots of bunnies on both. arba.net has a list ofshows for each state.
