You know, sometimes my stupidity amazes even myself. LOL I had the Xpen set up in the new rabbit area. But then I was like, "How are we going to hose the floor every day with an Xpen and shavings there?" So then it hit me...the does' old stall! It's 12'x14', cement floor, wood from the ground to 6' up, etc. My daughter and I stretched the Xpen straight down the middle. Now we can have 2 animals out at a time. :) Right now Ziva and Abby are enjoying themselves. We'll only put out the same sexes, for obvious reasons, but that means we can get out twice as many buns every day. :)

Now to find more toys for in there and they'll be set. *pats herself on the back*

Well, that was short lived. Rew and Frostie were out, one on each side of the stall. Somehow Frostie bit Rew's ear. Not enough to cause major bleeding, but enough there's a small tear in it. :( So, now it's 1 rabbit per stall and 1 in the Xpen. And Frostie's grounded!!

Could you put some cardboard or something on the x-pen to make it more solid? It should keep them from getting at each other and is easy to replace when it gets dirty or chewed.

You should not need to go all the way up, maybe 1-2 feet should be enough. If the panels for the pen are 2ft wide, then the cardboard only needs to be that wide so you can still fold up the pen. You could even weave it through the bars.

Maybe it wouldn't have to be as thick as cardboard. Maybe newspaper into 12-18"x?" pieces & weaving them in & out as needed would keep them from seeing each other. Or try a roll of brown paper.

Not sure if anything would work, because Frostie was just about to figure out she could jump/shimmy her way to the other side. LOL Maybe when we get the rest of the rabbit area the way I want it, I can get the kids to make a permanent fence across the middle. Until then, one rabbit in the big stall and one in the Xpen... and Frostie's still in the dog house. LOL

I have one split with thin particle board zip tied to the xpen. Sturdier than cardboard, cheap at hardware stores, and comes in all sorts of sizes and they can cut it for you. I used it in 2 ft pieces so the pen could still fold, at least somewhat. It has done the trick so far.

I thought I read somewhere that particle board was bad for them. Something about the chemicals/glue used to hold it all together?

Frostie...well, the little turd is a big bully. LOL I keep whispering, "Stew" every time I walk by. I don't think she knows what I'm saying, but it makes me feel better. And then my daughter (who belongs to Frostie now) says, "Noooooooo!" LOL

What Frostie thinks is "If it's stew for a herbivore, I might be willing to try it."

I don't know how to spell it, but the German dish for rabbit [which literally means rabbit pepper ie spicy rabbit] is something like hass-en-fef-er. So say that instead & neither your daughter or Frostie will know what you mean.

Frostie is an overgrown bully, and I've told her as much! LOL

Hey! I remember Hassenfefer from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons. I'm thinking we should re-name Frostie!

I was on a forum one time and posted a pic of Bugsy (only rabbit I had at the time) and someone responded with that Hassenfefer.. i had to google.

In spanish they say "fricase de conejo" LOL really long.

LOL!! It's been quite a few years since I had Spanish. Would that be pronounced Fraycasa day conayho? If so, I'm going to practice it until it rolls off my tongue and then flip it at Frostie every time I walk by her. Errr...I mean, "At Hassenfefer". lmao
