Hey!

I'm about to leave to go shadow at the catholic private highschool in my area.
I'm really nervous.
I just think everyones going to be so intimidating.
I'm in 8th grade.

If you don't know what shadowing is, it's pretty much just getting an assigned person
and following them around as they go through their day to see if you like the school.

Wish me luck xo

You'll be fine! I bet they will like you. Good luck and hope you like the school!

Don't worry, high school isn't nearly as intimidating as you build it up to be. You'll be breezing through there like you own the place within the first month of getting there.

Clearly you've already left, but I hope you have a great day.
I went to an all-girls Catholic High school in LA and I loved every minute of it. I never shadowed myself, but I had a few girls shadow me and it really is a big help in deciding where you want to go.
I know at my school we always did a great job of making the shadows feel right at home. I don't know if you already knew anyone at the school, but usually if you do you can request to shadow someone you know.

I'm not sure what kind of school you go to now, but I'm a product of 2 years in a Presbyterian preschool, 9 years in a Catholic co-ed school and 4 years in a Catholic all-girls high school. I can say with 100% certainty that I made the right decision in choosing my high school and if given the chance I would do it again.

Enjoy it while it lasts. I never thought I'd miss my school so much but I'm constantly reminded of the girls, the teachers, the administrators, etc. and I still miss it.
Don't get me wrong, I love Cornell, but it's a big adjustment and I'll probably always be at least a bit homesick for my high school.

Oh YAY! I'm so glad you had fun :). When I was your age, I had to switch over from being in private school my whole life to going to a public highschool in the city. And man, was I scared! But everything falls into place much more quickly than you think and pretty soon you'll have tons of new friends and it'll feel like home.

:dude: :biggrin2:

I knew you'd have fun. I'm glad you like the school too! We did the Catholic school thing til Luke was out of 8th grade.... now he's in public.
