I thought I'd post here instead of the asthma thread, because more people may see this and possibly give me some advice.

We're moving in 2 weeks. Right now I live 2 blocks from the nearest hospital. In 2 weeks, I'll live over an hour from the nearest hospital, thanks to us moving to hickville nowhere land. Our new home has 3 bedrooms, and one was supposed to go to all my animals, to get them out of my room. I have bad asthma and allergies, and right now I have some of the animals in my room, some in the living room, and the bigger cages like the rabbits and guinea pigs, in my parent's master bedroom.

Well, when we move, my mother's two 33 year sons decided they are coming with us thanks to them not wanting to work, and are taking that extra bedroom. My parents refuse to allow the animals in their new bedroom because it's a bit smaller in size, and they also won't allow no animals in the new living room. So when we move, I will have double the animals in my new room. Imagine my asthma and allergies then.

I worry about having asthma attacks as it is, but housing double the animals will definitely cause a problem.

Because the nearest hospital is an hour away, and the nearest doctor over a half hour away, I need to take as many precautions as possible not to cause my asthma to get worse, and to try to make it better. It's making it come down to me having to get rid of my animals. All of them, because I sneeze when I get around just one.

I feel so stupid because last night on here, I was actually talking about adopting ANOTHER rabbit. I'm an idiot, no need for y'all to say it, LOL.

Anyways, I feel horrible and so heartbroken. I don't know what to do. My friend Wendy who runs the rabbit rescue agreed to let me put them on her Petfinder account so we can include pictures, and on her rescue website.

But these animals are all rescues, and they have so many problems. I have blind hamsters, deaf rats, and I thought Charlie's seizures were due to mange mites, but they're not. Her mange mites are completely gone, as is the scratching, and she is still having seizures again. And a bunch of others have problems, or are really old. I can't even be guaranteed that they'll get the proper care once they leave my possession.

I feel so bad, I feel like I am abandoning them. And I can't even imagine parting with them, what am I going to do when the time comes to hand them over to a new home?

*Sigh*

Myboyharper, that is such an awfully hard decision to make. either your health or your animals....and sometimes you think your animals are more important.;)

If it comes down to adopting them it may put your guilt more at ease if you personally meet and screen the people who would be adopting.

No matter what it'll be hard to hand over your pets to someone new, but you are not abandoning them, just handing them over to someone who will take just as good of care of them like you have.

good luck in your decision!:goodluck

I mentioned a nebulizer in the other thread. If I were going to be an hour away from a hospital I would look into getting one.

Jim, I am definitely going to talk to my doctor about it. I am also going to go through an allergy test to pin-point some of the things I am allergic to.

I also have a air purifier with a HEPA filter on it, but I will be buying an additional one as well.
