My hubby-to-be left for Greece a few weeks ago to be with his father who had taken ill. This week, there have been major major fires there. Now they just announced that 2 fires started near Athens... Mario is there. 
The army has been called in and Mario was also called in (he helps with computing data etc.) He has lots of family scattered around in greece... Also, a family friend's village is in real danger right now.
Can you all please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers? They have already confirmed about 50 deaths and many more are trapped. They are calling to say they are surrounded by flames. The latest was a woman with her baby. They were trying to get to her as Mario and I spoke on the phone...
It's all really sad. These people are losing everything. Plus the country didn't have much greenery to begin with so it has a huge environmental impact also. Because the forests have been destroyed, they will suffer mudslides and floods soon enough. What is even more sad is that this is arson.
