Hello, I just purchased a rabbit yesterday, and I'm actually not sure what breed she is so I was hoping that you guys could help! Oh yeah, my name is Kathy, and my bunny's name is Evey :]

Here are some pictures!!

To help determine the breed you could post another thread in the "show room" (or something along those lines, I can't rember the name exactly), and also, the weight of your bun and age, if you know... That will help breeder and those who know about breeds help you figure it out.

Also....

Welcome to the forum!

I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to RO Kathy!

Evey is very cute! I hope you find RO very useful! If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Sooo, today my friend from college told me that she was going to set her bunny free because her new roommate is allergic! That alarmed meso needless to say I took her!!! Since she just adopted the cute bun from a shelter about a month ago I really thought that she needed a stable, loving home. Wow, so in 3 days, I've aquired two amazing bunnies!

The new one is a female named Sadie, and she is about 1 1/2 years old! Here is apic of her :] Again, I really don't know her breed, but I know that she's been spayed!

wow, both bunnies are adorable! Welcome!

Thats awesome of you to take this bunny. Did she not know how horrible it is to set a bunny loose? They have zero survival skills so its pretty much a death sentence. Youre just wonderful for taking her in!

Your little girl is probably too young right now, but as she matures you could probably bond her to the other (after shes spayed). Let us know if you have any questions or need any advice :D

Congrats and welcome to RO!

PS. I just noticed youre in Fenton, me too! wow! Let me know if you ever need anything, Im always happy to help

omg, Hi, Haley!! This is Kathy, Steve's sister! I was actually going to ask Ryan how to contact you because I have some bunny questions! I'm glad you're on here :]]]]]]

I had a loppy a long time ago when I was young so I still feel new to rabbits, and I want to make sure I'm doing things correctly. It looks like Sadie could use her nails trimmed...how often do they need trimming?

Oh wow, what a coincidence you found this place!

Im so excited for you. Ryan had mentioned a while back that you were thinking of getting a bunny. Thats awesome that now you have two. :)

So are you living at home now? You should check out these NIC condos a lot of us have made. Theyre so easy to make and so cheap! Heres one I had a while back:

Anyway, let me know if you need any help with anything. I can show you how to trim nails too if you dont know. Its pretty simple :)

Congrats on the new buns!

Yeah, I've been living at home for the summer, but I move back to MSU in about two weeks! That cage looks like it's made of the same grids I used in my dorm room; I really like it! I would love to learn how to trim their nails! Thanks again!

Yup, Im sure they are the grids you had in your room. Theyre Organize It cubes from Target and theyre awesome. My house is full of them :)

So does your apartment in Lansing allow pets? Mine never did and it was such a pain to sneak them in, but definitely doable.

Maybe Ryan and I could come over sometime this week and I can give you some info and show you how to cut nails. Or you could come here, whatever is best for you.

Also, a couple things to be aware of- Evey is probably pretty young and I get nervous with pet store bunnies cuz they often are taken away from mom too young. Did you get the kind of food they were feeding her there and is she eating/pooping alright?

Same with Sadie, is she on the same kind of food your friend had her on? Bunnies (kinda like horses) have very sensitive GI tracts and their food has to be changed gradually or else they can stop eating and go into stasis. Also, make sure theyre both getting unlimited hay (alfalfa is best for Evey due to her age, and timothy for sadie).

I'll have to print out some info for you. Pet stores really have no clue about bunnies. I have no clue how my boy Basil survived his first few years with me, I was clueless and the pet stores are definitely no help :)

I'm pretty sure they don't allow pets, but my old roommate had a bunny and a fish so I think I can sneak them in, haha!

Yeah, I'd love to meet...I am nervous about Evey since she is young, and I want to make sure I'm taking care of her properly...she is such a sweet heart..all she wants to do is cuddle!!!! She reminds me of a kitten, lol. Her poop looks normal so that makes me happy too.

I work Mon.-Friday 8am-5pm, but whatever works for you will be great! I can use all the advice and help I can get!!!

Whatever works best for you. I have tomorrow off so if you wanted to come here (I live near the corner of Baldwin and Fenton roads) you could bring the girls by after work. Or I could come out there Wednesday evening.

Welcome to RO!

Cute bunnies! I'm not sure about Evey's breed, but Sadie looks like a rex or mini rexto me.

Congrats on the new additions!:bunnydance:
