So, it's my birthday on Saturday- I will be the ripe old age of 25! :blushan:

A few weeks ago, I was wondering what to do to celebrate. I don't make a huge thing of it, but it's tradition amongst my group of friends that you usually do something- be it a night out at a club, a few drinks at the pub, a meal out, a BBQ, etc. I was thinking of going for a meal, and then Steve stopped me. Apparently I was not to arrange anything for my birthday whatsoever and he would take care of it!

Well when I know I have a surprise coming, it drives me crazy so I was very curious lol. Anyway, he told me last week, to cheer me up when I was sick after having my teeth out.

He has booked us a cottage in the Lake District, for a WHOLE WEEK!!!! :biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

We leave on Saturday, on my actual birthday, and we're gone for 7 days! Apparently it's as much for him as it is me as he has barely had a single day off ALL year so far and is knackered. We haven't much money as the wedding is taking most of our cash, but we're going to have a nice time up there on days out, picnics, and cooking our own meals in the evenings. The Lake District isn't too far from the coast either so if the weather is nice we should get a day or 2 out at the beach! :D

I can't wait! I feel like the luckiest girl ever!

I'm really worried about leaving the bunnies for a whole week on their own, especially cuddly Dotty, but we have the pet sitter coming in morning and evenings to feed them and clean their litter trays etc, and my mum will be popping in during the day most days to let them have a bit of a play and to give Dotty a cuddle etc, so they'll be well taken care of :)

Make sure to take your NEW digital camera.
I will do! I'm taking my DSLR so I'll probably use that mostly because there is some amazing landscape up there- I'll take my tripod as well. But the new camera will be coming along for a try-out too! :D

Did I miss something? You got a new compact camera? :)
Ooooh! Yes I did! I got the Panasonic Lumix TZ6! This:

In black. I wanted a new compact as my old one was a bit rubbish. I LOVE my DSLR but I can't take it on nights out, or to concerts etc and my old compact was really bad at taking pictures in low light etc. This one is so good! It doesn't have the creative manual modes like my older one, it's just a point and shoot, but it takes excellent low-light pictures without flash, has a really great zoom, and is just really nice. :)

I saw some pictures in the other threads. How do you like the camera now? Are there more pictures? How does it handle low light situations?
Oops sorry Stan I only just saw this!

I'm really loving the camera. For a compact, it's really good. Still doesn't compare to my Canon DSLR of course, but it's way better than my previous compact. I LOVE the zoom! I haven't really pushed it too far in low-light but from what I've used so far, it's much better than my other compact. It's just nice to have a small, reliable good camera to take out and about with me when I can't take my DSLR. My last compact when I used the flash made people come out really yellowy with really bright, almost irridescent skin, but no more of that! :D I've just uploaded some bunny-garden videos taken the other day, about to check them out and see how they came out!

I will upload some pictures of my trip taken with that camera tomorrow to show you. I've been meaning to get around to uploading them for ages now!

Thanks. I like totake my camera everywhere, but that is impossible. I hate to hide it in the car when I can't take it with me. When I don't have a camera with me, then I miss getting some pictures. At least having a Point and Shoot, I would get the shot.

However, finding a compact Point and Shootwith my expectations would be hard to get.

I am the same way. Kills me when I don't have it. That is my biggest issue.
