I'm going on holiday !

For those of you who remember, I posted about maybe getting a little moped as my OH didn't want to go on holiday.


Well .. I didn't get the moped/scooter, but I have got the holiday! Found a bargain online and ... booked it ... then told the OH ! He's calmed down now and is actually getting quite excited !

We're off to Crete on Sunday for a week ..

Needless to say, I'm very excited !

I'm SO jealous!! I went to Crete about 10 years ago with my parents when I was about 15... It's just a beautiful island. Whereabouts are you staying?

I hope/know you'll have a fantastic holiday! I would kill to have a week in the sun on the beach/by the pool right now!

Yoo Hoo ... we're staing at a place called Gournes, not far from Gouves and Kokkini Hani about 20km from Heraklion.

Oooh! I stayed in Hersonissos, not much farther down the coast! It's really lovely there.... Although Hersonissos was getting really touristy and noisy when I was there so it's probably even more built up nowGosh I'm even more jealous now! Definitely try and get out to see the rest of the island if you can, I think around Aghios Nkolaos there is some really stunning scenery, also down on the aouth coast is a little way to go, but beautiful there... *daydreams*

Yay me too! I go tomorrow! I've been shopping like crazy over the last week, I didn't go on holiday last year and we didn't really have a summer, therefore I have NO appropriate holiday clothes. Plus its sales, I've bought 4 tops, 2 tankinis, 1 kaftan, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 skirt, 3 dresses and a pair of flip flops in the last week ... oops.

I'm panicking a lot now because we don't know if we'll be able to afford a honeymoon yet, and right now I can't afford to buy holiday clothes, and I'm so worried that buy the time we book something there'll be nothing left in the shops!

I went to Crete back in ooh let me see .. 1978 I think. Stayed in Malia, which wasn't very busy at all, but apparently now it's really touristy and LOUD ! I don't think there's much where we are, but I'm not bothered about that, I just want sun, sand and sea ... give me a Lilo, a book and a sunshade and I'll be happy.

Am getting paranoid about this swine flu though as my daughter's friends have it. So long as I don't get it before my holiday .. or on it !!

I'm not taking that many clothes .. 3 pairs of shorts, 2 dresses and a number of vests/shirts and two pairs of flip flops .. and, of course, my swimming stuff.

I'm going to Spain. My Grandparents have a house in Denia in the Costa Blanca, its nice because its on a sort of Spanish 'housing estate' rather than a tourist place, and its usually quite quiet too. I can't wait to splash around in one of the 6 pools

How can yo pack within a week! It takes me like a month before i can pack lol... *hide*

nearly had a dicky fit last night !! I've been so careful at work, I have a bottle of handwash so that I can keep my hands as clean as I can and I turn away customers who are sneezing (joke) .. yesterday, I even bought a bottle of dettol and kept dipping my hands in dettol water as I'd forgotten my hand cleaner ....

I've got totally paranoid this last week over this piggy cough thing that's flying around - I think, because we've had such bad luck these last few years and quite seriously, it has been one thing after another, I began to think it inevitable that something would go wrong and I wouldn't be going on holiday. Sad I'm not normally a mental case .. honest!

There have been 7 confirmed cases where Mike works at Ikea, and a good load more off with it undiagnosed, so when I got a phone call from him last night with the dire words .. "I don't want to worry you .. but " ... I ran straight to check if Hollie's passport was still in date .. Haha!

Turns out it was hayfever .. his first bout this year bizarrely, where the rest of the family have been suffering for weeks !! He got home, had a tablet and felt better. Sheesh ! I thought I would have to leave him at home ! Then again, I would probably have felt guilty and not gone as he has severe asthma and it would be just like him to kick the bucket and make me feel guilty whilst I was sunning myself in Crete ...

So ... one more sleep ... then nothing can stop us !!
